More additional opinions on the Manhattan Declaration:
Pyromaniacs' Phil Johnson's position. Listen to his soundclips on the Paul Edwards Program this week.
It couldn't be clearer than this.
If this declaration did not involve any kind of connotation of religious unity and had only dealt with the moral and political issues, I wouldn't have a problem with anyone or myself signing the declaration. But the fact is the authorial intent of this declaration is hardly that and could more than well cause misinterpretation and may be a stumbling block to the weaker brothers in Christ. It doesn't help that the signers of the declaration all have their separate interpretations of the ambiguous definitions of this particular document.
Also in that same blog post:
Phil Johnson on Wretched Radio talking about the pardons, clemency, etc. for violent criminals after the Huckabee controversy. Pastor Phil definitely makes a good point and I heartily agree with his take on the questions of clemency and pardons for criminals.
